About Me

I am a writer and illustrator from Los Angeles, living on the Big Island of Hawai’i. My stories explore themes of imaginative play, creativity, and the blending of magic and reality.
As a kid, I was always drawing, especially tiny people (whom I'd search for at the base of trees). A love for drawing led me to art school, where I started out studying illustration and later, photography, painting, video, sculpture, performance art, and creative writing.
In 2013, I moved to Hawaii and began tutoring reading and teaching art part-time at an elementary school before starting my journey as a writer and illustrator of picture books. My biggest source of inspiration are my daughter’s funny questions, observations and accidental poetry.
When I am not working, you can find me collaborating with my daughter, paddling outrigger canoes, or creating songs.
